Zàijiàn Měiguó!

Zàijiàn Měiguó!

First, Happy National Adoption Month! November marks a month full of celebrating adoption and raising awareness about the thousands of children that are still in foster care that are in need of a home. Be on the lookout for more posts regarding this!

Secondly, I’m excited to announce that I will be spending my last semester of college studying in Shenzhen. Funny enough my mom and I had the idea one night at 11 PM when we were talking on the phone and by the next morning, I received permission from my on-campus organizations, scholarship program, and advisor. While I’ve been back to China twice, I’m looking forward to having the opportunity to live there for a longer period. I really feel that God is opening the door for me and I’m going.

Lastly, I’ve decided to re-open my search for my birth parents. With all the details falling into place quickly, I feel that I’m being drawn back to China for something. I also realize that this is probably one of the last opportunities I will have to go back to China since after graduation I will be focused on starting my career. The first time I went back to my province was filled with emotions and it was overwhelming. I feel that I am more prepared this go around. Although no details have been set in place, I am leaning towards finding a camera crew (local tv station or program in China) this time to help me with my search. Maybe being on TV will help spread my story farther than it did in newspaper and WeChat. I don’t know what this search will hold, but I will be detailing my process and be writing a lot more during my time in China.

Until next time,
